How To Make a
Memorable Maid of Honor Speech
|
|
|
|
First, choose a story, preferably funny, that you can share with the guests. It
could be a story during childhood, embarrassing moment, how you became close
friends or a certain incident wherein the bride played an important part of your
life. You may use this story as your opening remark and you can expound from
this. Do not add additional stories because one story would be enough for a
speech. |
Second, give the groom a few hints about what are the likes and
dislikes of the bride. You are the most likely person that would know the bride
very well. Since they are newlyweds, there could be some characteristics of the
bride that the groom does not know about. Share some of these as tips but choose
only a few.
Third, give them your wishes and a piece of advice to be able to have a
successful marriage. You can share something spiritual that they could ponder on
and use as a foundation for their marriage.
Last, be sure to bring a tissue or handkerchief with you during your speech.
Marriage is a mixture of fun and sadness and because of this, a lot of people
cry during speech delivery. It is better to come prepared for the tears rather
than wiping with your hands. You might deliver a good speech but get a smeared
makeup after.
